Cloncurry Unearthed Museum takes you on a journey with local Indigenous collection of artefacts, Burke and Wills ill-fated adventure, Mary Kathleen mine and township, Ernest Henry Copper Mine. Travel back in time with the photo’s artefacts and information of Cloncurry in a bygone era. View Burkes water bottle, some of the vintage dresses, and copper from EHM mine, and assayers’ equipment.
Cloncurry Unearthed houses one of the most comprehensive rock, ore, gem, and mineral collections in Australia as declared by experts in the industry.
Outside the building you can view the rail ambulance that ran to Kuridala and was last used in the 70’s, as well as some of the old machinery that was operated by the businesses in Cloncurry Shire. Check out the Tamrock Drill rig at the front of the park, or maybe the sculpture created by Joel Fergy, a well-known silo artist, with the assistance of one of our talented local fabricators.
There are large shady trees ideal for having a picnic under and plenty of green lawn creates a beautiful and peaceful setting in Mary Kathleen Park.
